Dubai Police has launched a new drive-through service at a police station for minor-accident cases.

Currently the drive-through service is only at the Rashidiya police station. Drivers won’t have to step out of their cars and the whole process is said to take about 3 minutes.

Brigadier Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman, director of Rashidiya Police Station, said the new service will help Dubai residents save time as they won’t have to wait too long for a police patrol to arrive at the scene of the minor accident.

Motorists have to call 999 first to check if they need to wait for a police patrol or go to the drive-through station directly. At the drive-through, a policeman checks the vehicle and takes pictures of the damage before sending over the report via email or MMS.

The service went live on November 1st and is operational 24 hours. Since then, more than 100 people have already used it. There is also a smartphone app to report minor accidents.
