2016 BMW M2 officially revealed
BMW recently revealed the 2016 M2. It seems the German luxury brand has just pumped up the M235i with more power, while adding an active rear differential and lightened suspension components.
Under the hood, it gets the 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder turbocharged engine, with direct injection, Double-VANOS and Valvetronic, as well as M components such as new pistons and crank bearings. These are enough to give it 365 hp and 465 Nm of torque. It can be had with a dual-clutch automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
BMW claims the M2 can hit 0-100 kph in 4.4 seconds with the dual-clutch, while it is about 4.6 seconds with a manual transmission. As is the case with the M235i, top speed of the M2 is electronically limited to 250 kph as well.
The exterior gets a more aggressive look, with the bodywork swelling up slightly in the front and back. It gets larger intakes in the front, while the rear gets a diffuser. The M2 rides on 19-inch forged wheels which have been wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres.
The BMW M2 should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometime next year.
