2016 Volkswagen Passat U.S. version revealed
Volkswagen has officially unveiled the facelifted 2016 Passat in the United States. This is the variant we get in the GCC, a slightly larger sedan than the excellent European one.
The changes done to the U.S. version seem to be less exensive than the European one, featuring new bumpers, a different grille and optional LED headllights and taillights, aside from a restyled boot-lid and extra chrome trim.
There is a new R-Line version that features a more aggressive front bumper, unique side skirts and a rear diffuser. It also has black accents and 19-inch alloy wheels.
The interior has a new instrument panel, a redesigned steering wheel and higher quality materials. A new MIB II infotainment system with USB/Bluetooth connectivity as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink compatibility is available. New options include heated rear seats and an “Easy-Open” keyless access trunk that opens when an owner’s foot is placed underneath it.
Three engines will be available, namely a 1.8-litre TSI 4-cylinder, a 2.0-litre TDI turbodiesel 4-cylinder and a 3.6-litre FSI V6, all existing engines from the VW corporate family.
Expect the new Passat to debut in Saudi Arabia, UAE and other GCC markets by early next year.
Keep track of prices and updates in the Volkswagen buyer guide.

With the cheated TDI engine? I was waiting to read your version of the VW emission cheating story and surprised to see a new launch news, that also in the US, with no mention to the big scam recently revealed.

Sorry, just saw that you had reported the scam story separately. Still surprised if they are launching another TDI version in the US, but indeed not going to come to our market anyway.
