Rolls-Royce Dawn revealed, convertible version of Wraith
The convertible version of the Rolls-Royce Wraith has just been revealed, and despite the hype, it looks exactly like the convertible version of the Rolls-Royce Wraith.
According to Rolls-Royce, there are differences, although you’d be hard-pressed to spot them — nearly 80% of the Dawn’s body panels are new. The doors carry over, but the chin is pulled forward by 53 mm compared to the Wraith and the grille is recessed by 43 mm. The belt-line arches up around the back of the cabin and, well, there’s that soft-top — a six-layer canvas roof that folds down beneath a wooden deck.
Mechanically, the Dawn appears to be identical to the Wraith with a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12, but tuned less-aggressively in this application for 563 hp and 780 Nm of torque just like the Ghost. The motor sends power to the rear wheels via the satellite-guided 8-speed automatic transmission. And it remains visually customisable, with a choice of 20-inch and 21-inch wheels and an unlimited palate of colours for the paint, leather and trim.
Expect prices to start north of Dhs 1 million when it arrives in the UAE and other GCC countries by early next year.
Keep track of updates in the Rolls-Royce buyer guide.

Why didn’t they just call it Wraith cabriolet or so

Because from the way it looks. The name (apart from the soft top) was the only way to distinguish it from the wraith. Getting a little boring these are now…
