Arabian Automobiles, the exclusive distributor of Renault in Dubai and Northern Emirates, and Renault Middle East in partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) discussed electric vehicles and sustainable transport at the Electric Vehicle Conference held in Dubai.

The event featured a line-up of speakers including top government officials and key industry leaders from around the region. The speakers announced the global trends in electric vehicles transportation, the current challenges owners of these cars face and the way forward to successfully introduce electric vehicles in the UAE. The conference concluded with Arabian Automobiles and Renault Middle East felicitating DEWA for their order confirmation of 8 Renault Zoe electric vehicles.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA said Dubai plans to roll out 100 electric charging stations for vehicles by the end of this year, as part of the “Smart Dubai” initiative.

We asked Renault Middle East if they officially offer the Renault Zoe for the general public yet, but have not heard back.
