BMW X6 popular in UAE and GCC

Just over a year ago, the BMW X6 was launched. It was an entirely new type of car, a unique design concept and driving dynamics never seen before in its sector. Now in its second year, the oh-look-at-me-I-am-weird X6 has rewarded the world’s leading premium automotive manufacturer, becoming a firm favourite with oh-look-at-me-I-am-weird customers in the GCC.

In its first year 2, 589 BMW X6 units were sold in the Middle East region, of which 705 vehicles were sold in Dubai, the most of any market. Sales in the capital, Abu Dhabi, were also impressive with 661 models sold, while outside of the UAE the X6 performed strongly with 340 units sold in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 292 vehicles sold in Kuwait. In Qatar sales reached 258 units, while Oman and Bahrain witnessed sales of 76 and 58 units respectively over the same period.

Reflecting on the success of the BMW X6, Phil Horton, Managing Director, BMW Group Middle East said: “The first year’s sales figures are very encouraging. They demonstrate that the X6’s dynamic combination of on-road performance and off-road capability has found many admirers in the region.”

The BMW X6 models makes use of BMW’s EfficientDynamics technology innovations that reduce fuel consumption and CO² emissions. Both the X6 include new High Precision Injection (HPI) engines and tyres with reduced rolling-resistance, delivering excellent performance and making the X6 the most fuel efficient vehicle in its class.
