2016 Nissan Maxima (1)

Nissan has debuted the all-new 2016 Maxima at the 2015 New York Auto Show.

The new Maxima showcases Nissan’s new design language with the “V-Motion” front end, boomerang lights and floating roof look. The new chassis is now lighter and more rigid than the outgoing model.

Inside, the Maxima gets a flat-bottomed steering wheel, Alcantara accents and a centre console that is angled 7-degrees toward the driver. It also gets 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display in the instrument cluster.

Under the hood is the same 3.5-litre V6 engine but with 60-percent new parts, now producing about 300 hp and 353 Nm of torque. A new CVT transmission has been added which improves fuel economy and performance.

Some safety systems in the Maxima include Intelligent Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and a Predictive Forward Collision Warning system.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima should make its way to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries before the end of the year.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the Nissan Maxima buyer guide.

Comments

  1. copied from hyundai elantra’s front grille.

  2. The front grill looks garish.

  3. Beefed up Mazda .. eh!

  4. Could the wheels and wheelarches BE any smaller in relation to the body? The car looks very disproportionate in pictures.

  5. what a stunning car… i hope they make it RWD

  6. Lot of Curves…Maximized. Good Car.
They will not come up with RWD. Infinti Q’s won’t move.
Hope lot of White Maximas will seen on GCC Roads.

  7. Timeless design and hats off to the most advanced sedan in its class …brilliant

Can’t wait to put my money down and bring this baby home

  8. Most kids here have never driven a cvt you kids are clueless …

  9. It is true that a regular automatic feels sportier & better than CVT; however, cvt is much better especially when taking over other cars or if you are driving in a crowded highway where your speed goes back & forth; which is the case in the GCC.. the drawback of CVT is the noise under full throttle

  10. This is a complete flop. Total copy of camry and other cars. No originality. interior is ok.

I’ve sold nissan’s and I’ll say the newer models are riddled with issues.

  11. The present Maxima model was a wonderful design.

  12. To those who want to see ASAP Maximas on GCC Roads:
Two-tree evenings ago this car was driving from Abu Dhabi towards Dubai, [of course] totally camouflated under stickers.
I thing is a norm for new cars for UAE/GCC.

What captured my attention: disproportionally low door handles [mainly the front ones].

Even if by the back was not recognized the car, the base for the front logo (round+rectangular) inside the V-Motion nose treated it.

  13. proportions are so weird, front is aggressive and profile is goofy especially the c section, rear is hit n miss i would’nt give this any respect on the road, look like its inspired by the juke
