Porsche 911 GT2 gets Wimmer upgrades

Wimmer Porsche 911 GT2
Wimmer Rennsporttechnik Solingen, the unknown European tuning firm with the long name, has released a number of performance upgrades for the new 997-generation Porsche 911 GT2 Biturbo.

Wimmer has upgraded the 530 hp Porsche 997 GT2 Evo to deliver 680 hp, with a solid 870 Nm of torque. The conversion includes a twin-turbo engine, improved engine management, two optimised Wimmer turbochargers, a custom-built Wimmer sport exhaust system, redone cylinder heads, sport camshafts and a sport clutch.

The all-inclusive-price for the full engine conversion costs the equivalent of Dhs 147,000 with fitting and warranty in Europe.

According to Wimmer, 0-100 kph acceleration takes 3.4 seconds, while 0-200 kph takes 9.78 seconds, and 0-300 kph is reached in 25.8 seconds. Top speed is an insane 356 kph, depending on the tyres. DTM-approved Dunlop tyres are required. The Sport-Maxx GT, 235/30-20 front and 325/25-20 rear, are fitted on 20-inch Sportec rims.

The appearance is spiced up by exterior mirrors and rear spoiler lip made of carbon. Upon request of the customer all parts can be made of carbon. The chassis has been improved by H&R suspension.

Of course, you’d need a stock Porsche 911 GT2 to start with. For UAE and GCC information, check out the Porsche 911 buyer guide.
