So we got a 2014 Opel Insignia OPC
Opel has a relatively non-existent rep in the GCC. Their cars have been available here on-and-off for decades now, but they had recently disappeared for a few years in between. Now that the brand is back, with no support from parent-company General Motors, they face an uphill battle to re-establish themselves in the fickle UAE car market. We’d say the best part of their re-emergence is that they brought over the entire OPC line of models, including this Insignia OPC sports sedan.
To put it simply, the car looks absolutely phenomenal. It’s got just the right amount of aggression, with unique touches such as the special wheels, the drilled brake rotors, the integrated exhaust tips, the front bumper vents and the liftback tail.
Inside, things get even more interesting with racing seats and a fat steering wheel, as well as entry-level luxury trimmings.
Out back, the rear legroom ain’t all that, but the boot is huge, made even bigger with that hatchback-style lid.
On the road, the Insignia OPC is every bit the sports sedan, and can go toe-to-toe with smaller cars like, say, the VW Golf R. More in the full review.

Wiki says out of 435 NM, 400 newton metres is available from 2,000 rpm. What turbo lag?

Well, it’s well known that in hot conditions the turbo’ed engines are less efficient…maybe that’s what George experienced…
