Chevrolet Silverado HD High Country 2015 edition goes upscale
Chevrolet has introduced the HD High Country Silverado in the United States. The badge extends all the way to the 1500, 2500 and 3500 series HD models.
The exclusive bits in the vehicle are essentially cosmetic. To be precise, you get a thick handlebar type chrome grille with body coloured bumpers; equally thick 20-inch, 18-inch or 17-inch chrome wheels; and chunky side steps. All of the following are garnished with special badging.
The Silverado 2500-series High Country HD will be available in two or four-wheel-drive, and the 3500 with the optional hulk sized dual rear wheels. Grunt for the Silverado HD High Country comes from a 6.0-litre V8 producing 360 hp and 515 Nm of torque, or a 6.6-litre Duramax turbo diesel engine producing 397 hp and 1037 Nm of torque. The latter will be coupled with a Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission.
On the inside, there’s saddle brown perforated leather seats that warms or cools your back upon request, 8-inch touchscreen with the perky MyLink suite, and Bose audio to massage your ears. As far as goodies go, you could also opt for a sunroof, navigation system and rear-seat Blu-Ray player as well.
At the moment, we have no word on whether the HD High Country edition will be offered in the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia or any other GCC market.
