Porsche replacing all 2014 911 GT3 engines in fire-risk recall

Porsche has announced that they will replace the engines in all 2014 911 GT3 and has told owners to stop driving their cars because of a fire risk.

Porsche is recalling all 785 new Porsche 911 GT3 cars built so far, after two engine fires were reported in Europe. A loosened fastener apparently causes oil to leak, which then catches fire. The new engines will have “optimised fasteners.”

Porsche hasn’t said how much the recall for the Dhs 500,000 car will cost them. A few have already been delivered in the UAE.

What do you think?

  1. Only because of an influential guy in automotive industry who owns a 911 GT3 which caught fire recently.

  2. kudos to porsche for acting quickly. good job guys.

    • Look up Porsche IMS fault and RMS fault. Their engines have been blowing up for a decade. They only doing this now because it is so public.
