Koenigsegg Agera One:1 makes its debut in Geneva

Koenigsegg Agera One:1
Koenigsegg, the Swedish car company that first burst into the scene in 1994, is now considered one of the top names among hypercar makers in the world. And further helping their cause as they enter into their 20th year in the industry is the new Agera One:1, which after weeks of teasing, made its way into the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Koenigsegg tells us that the new Agera One:1 comes with a 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing an astonishing 1341 hp. To make things a little more dramatic, let’s put it this way, the Agera One:1 produces 1 megawatt of power!

Furthermore, the power-to-weight ratio of the car stands at 1 hp per 1 kg, which we think probably relates to the name; One:1. In any case, the engine will be coupled to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and electronic differential will channel power to the wheels. Koenigsegg claims that the top speed of the One:1 is around 440 kph (simulated). If proven, it could take the title for the ‘World’s Fastest Production Vehicle’.

As far as the technology goes, the company is nowhere close to its fellow mates at IKEA. For instance, the car is equipped with variable geometry turbos in custom, 3D-printed housings and also a 3D-printed titanium exhaust.

The company says that only six of the following “megacars” will be built, and that they are already all sold out. We’re not sure of who the buyers are, but we are quite certain that a handful of these exotics will make it to the shores of the GCC.

  1. I’ve seen an Agera R in the workshop last November, its Turbo was broken probebly due to less use as the car was done only 7000 km in 3 years

  2. All supercars have the same led headlights nowadays :S

  3. So let me get this straight. It will take the title of the fastest production vehicle yet only six are ever going to be built?! That sounds a bit ridiculous to be honest. Aren’t there some clauses as to what is classified as a production vehicle! I would say that 20 cars wouldn’t be classified as “production” cars let alone SIX. Group B rally days specified at least 100 sold units for a production car to race. Either way it looks stunning and the performance figures seem out of this world.
