Ford Expedition gets new EcoBoost V6 for 2015
Ford Expedition, the American company’s full-size SUV has undergone a minor exterior touch-up and a bit more significant under-the-hood upgrade for 2015. The vehicle made its official debut at the 2014 Dallas-Fort Worth Auto Show in Texas.
The “new” Ford Expedition, like its predecessors, will seat 7 people as well as boast the capability to tow your caravan or boat, if you happened to have one. And while you’ll be surprised that the company has ditched the old 5.4-litre V8 for a 3.5-litre Ecoboost V6, the new engine will produce more torque and power than the former. That’s 370 hp and 583 Nm of torque, coupled with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel-drive.
The exterior remains largely the same. However, look closely and you’ll find that the new Expedition is adorned by a three-bar grille instead of the four-bar grille from last year, and there’s also a bit of chrome garnish with additional LED lamps here and there.
The interior doesn’t offer much change over the 2014 edition either. But there’s a choice between dark red or black leather seats. There are also two new 4.2-inch LCD screens between the central speedometer. Furthermore, there is an 8-inch touchscreen if you opt for the MyFord Touch feature.
The feature list continues on with cross-traffic alert, push-button start and rearview camera amongst a host of various other gizmos. There are also handy applications that assist the driver in towing and off-road driving.
The 2015 Ford Expedition is due to begin production later this year. So we here in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the rest of the GCC can expect the SUV to land on our shores sometime early next year.

interesting one. i was surprised to see so many new expeditions on the roads over the past 1-2 years given how outdated the car was/ is..
but given its size and a starting price tag that is almost 100k lower than that of the size-wise competition (LC/ Patrol), there is a strong argument..
really like the new rims on this one!

I was so sure that Ford would scrap this model but they have made it better. Just hope it stays cheaper than the explorer which is not even a proper 4×4.

About the only 4wd that is aptly priced, yet vastly capable without compromising on safety and convenience features.

Checked the prices of the 2015 model ford expedition today with the dealer in Oman (Arabian car marketing company – a part of Saud Bahwan Automobiles) and the prices are ridiculously high. There are 4 trims offered here in Oman:
1. XL (base variant) with a price tag of R.O 17,800
2. XLT with fabric seating option for R.O 18,700
3. XLT with leather seating option for R.O 19,300
4. Limited which includes the equipment group package (301A) i.e. power moonroof, power deployable running boards and navigation for R.O 24,000
The ford expedition was a very affordable and capable 4×4 until now. Still do not doubt its capability but affordability is in doubt for certain!!
