So we got a 2014 Audi A5 Sportback 3.0T Quattro
We pick up our first Audi for a test-drive after a nearly decade-long hiatus. And it’s a good one too, for our re-introduction to the brand. The facelifted A5 Sportback, with the supercharged V6, is quite a car.
It looks good, in the non-controversial way that all Audi cars look good, and that “four-door coupe” profile doesn’t hurt its practicality at all.
Inside, it goes for a clean look without using overdone styling elements, although the clutter of tech takes some getting used to.
Space inside is decent, while the boot is spacious under that hatch-style tailgate.
And with that tailgate, the A5 Sportback is sort of in a niche of its own at the moment, that of the entry-level luxury liftback segment. It has already spawned copy-cat models from a rival brand, but the original one still looks better, even with just a facelift. The sporting drivetrain helps too. More in the full review.

Love the rims! Interior looks dated.
Btw, my 3.6CC was just as fast as the A7 3.0T, I wonder if the A5 3.0T would be faster since it weighs less than the A7

A beautiful, practical car that is apparently not available in the US because of our aversion to hatchbacks. I don’t understand, since the A7 is available here, but priced at over 60k. Regarding the BMW Gran Coupe – another beautiful car, although I prefer the Audi from a strictly styling perspective.
