Jaguar F-Type Coupe world debut in LA Auto Show…and Dubai!
You’ve probably heard that the Jaguar F-Type Coupe just had its world debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show this morning. What you didn’t know is that it had its UAE debut this morning as well!
The hardtop alternative to the F-Type Roadster comes in three trims, the last of which is different from the droptop line. Aside from the 340 hp F-Type V6 and 380 hp F-Type V6 S models, both with a 3.0-litre supercharged V6, the top version for the coupe is the 550 hp F-Type V8 R, with an upgraded version of the V8 found in the 510 hp F-Type V8 S Roadster. There is no V8 S version for the coupe.
The Jaguar F-Type R, which is the car we took a look at in the Dubai media reveal, can do the 0-100 kph run in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 298 kph. The standard stiffer suspension features adaptive dynamics to manage the car’s body movements and adjust accordingly. Drivers can dial up an even stiffer suspension setting in Dynamic Mode, which will also adjust the steering, the shift patterns of the 8-speed SportShift automatic and the throttle response.
A new electronic active differential and a torque vectoring system further improve the F-Type R’s handling, the former controlling the amount of torque sent to each wheel while the latter able to independently brake the inner wheels to reduce understeer. The F-Type R’s brakes are the largest available in the F-Type range, at 15-inches in front and 14.8-inches in back, that too with optional carbon-ceramic discs.
The coupe has an identical interior to the roadster from the dashboard till the back of the seats. The boot is now thankfully larger, able to fit small suitcases under the standard power-operated tailgate.
Starting at Dhs 235,000 for the entry-level V6 model, the V6 S has a base price of Dhs 288,000. Both cars feature a Dynamic Mode, while the S Coupe adds on an active exhaust, launch control, adaptive suspension and larger 15-inch front and 12.8-inch rear brakes as opposed to 13.9-inch fronts and 12.8-inch rears. The V8 R starts at Dhs 426,000. Options add to the total price, so all cars will likely cost higher when they reach showrooms by June next year, as the dealer pre-orders them with popular option packages.
Keep track of updates in the Jaguar buyer guide.

Since the XF in 2009, Jaguar has made some amazing changes. THe XJ and F-type look like future cars. They are 100% boss.

Mashfique,
What is the official colour of the Red F type.. the Jaguar reds are either Salsa, or Italian racing red and I was wondering which one is represented in the pictures.

Hey,
I have a question about the F-Type in these pictures. Is the color Salsa Red or Italian Racing Red?
I really like how the car looks and soon I’m gonna order one but I want a nice red color and this one is just perfect.
So if you could answer, it would be awesome and much appreciated!

This is Salsa. The Italian is darker.
