2014 Nissan Patrol, Pathfinder Hybrid, NV200 Hybrid Taxi debut at Dubai Motor Show
Nissan revealed a range of vehicles at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show, with the most notable being the new facelifted Nissan Patrol, the Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and the Nissan Smart Hybrid Taxi.
The 2014 Nissan Patrol is the Japanese manufacturer’s flagship SUV and understandably made its world-debut in Dubai since it continues to enjoy massive popularity in the UAE. They also released a new Patrol Black Special Edition, which is based on the Platinum City model. It comes with black matte exterior, matte black front grille and rear gate handle garnish, chrome-plated alloy wheels and red leather seats, of which only 200 will be made.
The Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid also made its debut in this region and features a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine, coupled with a 15-kW electic motor. The Hybrid gets 30% better fuel efficiency than the standard Pathfinder. It produces about 250 hp combined, just 10 less than the normal Pathfinder petrol engine.
Also making its debut was the Nissan Smart Hybrid Taxi, based on the Nissan NV200 van. The Japanese manufacturer hopes this model will attract the RTA and taxi companies here for their fleets. Nissan has already started supplying the NV200 as taxis in New York. This model features the new S-hybrid system which incorporates a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with direct-injection and a CVT automatic.
