Porsche will be locally launching the new-generation 911 Turbo, 911 Turbo S, 911 GT3 and 911 50th Anniversary Edition at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show this week, alongside the Panamera S E-Hybrid and the Porsche E-Mobility concept. A 1/8th scale model of the 918 Spyder will also be displayed, according to new Porsche Middle East boss Christer Ekberg at a recent media roundtable.

Aside from the new models, Porsche is also enjoying a 38% increases in sales for the first three quarters of 2013, compared to the same period last year. In the Middle East, Africa and India region, the Cayenne is the universal top seller, accounting for 62% of all sales and registering a 43% growth in the same period.

Sales have been boosted by the introduction of the Cayenne Turbo S, the Cayenne GTS and the Cayman, with the new Panamera and Panamera Executive LWB models just going on sale recently.

Cars hitting showrooms early next year include the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, the 918 Spyder and the Macan. Only 918 units of the 918 Spyder supercar will be built, that too in only one year with production already having started, and given its popularity among the elite, ordering one now means receiving it a year from now. On the other hand, Porsche expects to build 50,000 or more of the Macan compact crossovers per year, and it’s slated to debut later this November.

Incidentally, while Porsche considers South Africa to be their largest market in the Middle East/Africa/India region with 1798 sold out of a total of 8719 Porsche vehicles imported during this period, Dubai with 1337 cars and Abu Dhabi with 1066 cars are considered two separate markets due to two separate importers, but some quick math suggests the UAE as a whole is the largest market for Porsche around here, far ahead of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
