Toyota Prado 2014 launched in Saudi Arabia

The refreshed 2014 Toyota Prado has been launched in Saudi Arabia. The best-selling midsize 4×4 continues to be offered with two engine options as well as a variety of trim levels.

The basic Prado TX comes with standard 160 hp 2.7-litre 4-cylinder “VVT-i” engine, all-wheel-drive with low-range gearing, 17-inch steel wheels, halogen headlights with manual levelling, black front grille, black side mirrors and door handles, rear spoiler, side step, mud guards, rear parking sensors, fabric seating for seven, keyless entry, front and rear manual a/c, CD/MP3 6-speaker stereo, ABS with EBD and brake-assist, dual front airbags and engine immobiliser. The 5-speed manual version costs SAR 115,900, while the 4-speed automatic is priced at SAR 120,900.

The Prado TXL model adds 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, chrome front grille, body-coloured trim, front bumper protector, leather steering wheel and shift lever, USB/AUX ports and Bluetooth, cool box, 220V AC connector, stability control and a trunk liner. The manual version is priced at SAR 125,900, while the automatic one costs SAR 130,400.

The higher-spec Prado TXL V6 model comes with a standard 271 hp 4.0-litre V6 “VVT-i” engine, and in addition to all the above features, also comes with roof rails, side mouldings, tow hitch, smart key with engine start/stop button and cruise control. The 6-speed manual model costs SAR 148,000, while the 5-speed automatic version additionally gains uphill/downhill assist and goes for SAR 154,500.

The TXL 2 version of the V6 models adds LED low-beam headlights with auto-levelling, moon roof, dual auto a/c, “AVX audio with T-Connect”, rear camera, headlamp cleaner, “laser” sunshades and “in-vehicle WiFi”, however that works. This model comes in automatic only and costs SAR 167,000.

The Prado VXL V6 model gains 18-inch alloy wheels, Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), leather seats, ventilated front seats, power front seats with memory, power-folding third row, Multi Terrain Select (MTS) with four cameras, front and rear parking sensors, side airbags, curtain and front-knee airbags, “light control” system, rear DVD screen, blind-spot monitor, “optitron” gauges, 14-speaker JBL stereo, tyre pressure warning system, remote engine starter and a rear bumper garnish, but without WiFi. This top model costs a whopping SAR 210,000.

While the 2014 Toyota Prado is already offered in Saudi Arabia, expect it to debut in the UAE at the Dubai Motor Show next month.

    old engines. no new engines from toyota is a sure dissapointment

  5. The 2.7L engine seriously needs a better transmission (5/6 speed) to improve its pathetic performance and fuel economy !!
