Bulleta Motors launches RF22 amidst a haze of tension
It’s a bit too clichéd in our view; a new company with big dreams, trying to make a supercar that’s derived from a Lotus. Of-course we don’t want to make any assumptions. But this Southern California based supercar company claims their existence with the launch of their new RF22.
The vehicle is inspired by the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor fighter jet, which itself had a troubled past. Still, the company claims to offer two versions of the mid-engine RF22. The first one produces 400 hp and 481 Nm of torque, whereas the second one produces an impressive 505 hp and 529 Nm of torque.
The juice for both variants will come via a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 which will be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. The ‘R’ model will reportedly hit from 0-100 kph in 3.6 seconds. On the other hand, the former 400 hp model will achieve the same in 3.9 seconds. There’s also a 6-speed automatic gear with paddle shifters.
However, Autoblog states that the RF22 may be in a spot of bother after Lotus USA’s marketing and PR communications executive rubbished claims of them selling their chassis to Bulleta. They responded by stating that the deal is with Lotus UK, as opposed to Lotus US.
As or now, we’re just drooling over the design, hoping that the company will blow away all these issues soon and make the RF22 .
