Spyker shows off new B6 Venator Spyder Concept
While we thought that the Spyker C8 Spyder was cool, get a load of what the Dutch carmaker revealed at Monterey. It’s the B6 Venator Spyder, with a ‘concept’ tag. But despite that, it looks pretty production-ready.
The looks are clearly borrowed from the hardtop which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show this year. There still is the red cover on the ignition switch which is supposedly placed to evoke the “spirit of starting an aeroplane”. The dashboard also lights up as part of the so called “pre-flight check.”
There’s nothing disappointing about the engine either. And although the displacement of the engine hasn’t been disclosed, we know that you get a 375 hp V6 sitting between the front and rear wheels, and a six-speed automatic gearbox to go with it. And that coupled with the all carbon-fibre body and the aluminium chassis which weighs in at 1400 kg, should make an interesting recipe.
Spyker used to be officially available in the UAE a few years ago, but left the market once the company was in trouble. The new B6 Venator is their comeback car, base-priced around the Dhs 550,000 mark, but it remains to be seen if it returns to the GCC, at least officially.
