Nissan Pathfinder 2013 launched in the UAE & GCC
The all-new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder has just been launched in the GCC, with a media event in the UAE. The new Pathfinder ditches its body-on-frame chassis for this year and gains some length to compete in the hotly-contested midsize crossover segment.
According to Nissan, the outgoing Pathfinder settled for fourth place in the midsize SUV segment, in a segment dominated by the Toyota Prado and Fortuner, neither of which are at the top for their offroading capabilities. Even the Hyundai Santa Fe is ahead in third place, and Nissan has now taken the approach of the latter, pitching a crossover road-going SUV rather than a compromised offroader.
The 7-seater 2013 Pathfinder is powered by a 254 hp 3.5-litre V6 with 326 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT and a choice of either front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive in all trim levels. The all-wheel-drive model gets a selector for choosing 2WD, 4WD or Auto.
The base Pathfinder S comes standard with a second-row 60/40-split fold-flat bench seat, a third-row 50/50-split fold-flat reclining bench seat, 18-inch alloys, tri-zone automatic a/c, keyless entry with push-button ignition, power windows, CD/MP3/DVD/HDD audio system with 6 speakers, USB/AUX ports, Bluetooth phone, auto headlights, 6 airbags, stability control, tyre-pressure monitor and apparently a power liftgate, although we didn’t see it in the base model we checked out.
The Pathfinder SV adds power-adjustable front seats, 7-inch QVGA colour monitor, rear camera, 20-inch alloy wheels, remote starter, auxiliary audio/video input jack, power windows with front one-touch auto-up/down, front fog lamps, chrome body side trim, welcome lighting, stainless-steel kick plates, speed-sensitive intermittent wipers, illuminated sun-visor mirrors, sunroof, wood-tone trim, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, leather seats, and a tow hitch receiver with 7-pin trailer tow wiring harness on the rear bumper.
The top-spec Pathfinder SL further adds a key-linked memory seat and other settings for individual drivers, curtain and side airbags front and rear, digital compass, 9GB hard drive, 8-inch VGA colour monitor with navigation, Bose audio system with 12 speakers, climate-controlled front seats, and a power-tilt/telescoping steering column. An around-view four-camera parking aid is optional, as is a rear DVD entertainment system with 2 screens.
The 2013 Pathfinder range is priced between Dhs 109,000 and Dhs 169,000 in the UAE, not including dealer mark-ups or add-ons.
Keep track of prices and updates in the Nissan Pathfinder buyer guide.

Nonsense. This is a much nicer car than the old boxy pathy.

Looks good for a beefed up elongated CUV than an SUV… Its more like a wagon lifted higher up the ground with some touch of a sedan and having the Maxima engine… You can’t call it the new pathfinder, this should be named Maxima ‘Max’. Nissan killed the spirited SUV, what the Pathfinder used to be!

Now only Pajero left in the dh120k 7 seater offroader!!

Just what we need for normal civilians of the country.
Some of us have true 4×4 vehicles, but most haven’t even touched unpaved parking lots.

we are waiting for the Xterra, please Nissan hurry up and release the new shape soon, and dpnt spoil it, just make it better, improve the interior quality “little bit” and increase back seat leg room again “little bit”, an extra inch will be enough, and you will have a winner over the stuipdly over priced FJ as toyota increase its price 5k dhs every week and now it is at 155K ???

Would like you to review the Santa Fe, Mash!

Just replaced our 7 year old Prado with this new Pathfinder SL. We stopped going to the desert & off road years ago, wanted something that would have:
7 seats
panoramic sunroof
power tail gate
back up camera
easy entrance to the 3rd seat row for the school run
GPS integrated
Push Start/Stop button
Japanese, Asian brand (not US after really bad experience with Ford & AlTayer)
Reasonably cheap to run
4WD for the occasional beach sun downer
Wife did not want korean, while my favorite was/is the Santa Fe.
The only other car on our list was the new CX-9 which I also like, but felt a bit tired in terms of dash and GPS, small sunroof and half made start plastic key thingy.
Only the Pathfinder remained, so now we have one – overall happy, but there is no perfect car. I don’t mind the CVT, it is actually better than expected, engine fine, all works as expected. Mine only gripes are so far;
difficult to see where the front ends, due to the “aerodynamic” round shape. Camera needed. Still new under break in period but fuel consumption is nowhere near the specified figures. Why no BLIS and electrical foldable mirrors??? (get the Infinity JX, but that one is too fugly).
So overall happy camper, drives very well, quiet, smooth, practical, BUT it is no OLD wadi & dune bashing, body on frame, Pathfinder. Maybe it should have been given another name…???

I would rather buy a Previa,if I have to buy a van.
