2013 Porsche Cayman released at LA Auto Show

The new Porsche Cayman made its debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. Lower and longer than the previous generation, under the hood are no surprises as the Cayman shares the same engines as the Porsche Boxter.

The mid-engined Porsche Cayman has a 2.7-litre 6-cylinder plant for the base model, which produces about 275 hp. The Cayman S gets a 3.4-litre 6-cylinder engine which churns out 325 hp. The standard gearbox is the 6-speed manual, with the superquick 7-speed PDK automatic gearbox an option.

Like the Boxter, the handling of the Cayman will definitely be an improvement, thanks to the new longer wheelbase and wider body.

Expect the new Porsche Cayman to hit showrooms in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and GCC by early next year.
