This old 1969 Chevy Camaro has 2000 horsepower!
American-based Nelson Racing Engines, in collaboration with eGarage and Roadster Shop, built this custom 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Looking stock on the outside, under the bonnet is a little engine with only 2,000 horsepower.
That’s right, the 2,000 hp power output was achieved by installing a “NRE Billet Blackout Series” twin-turbo intercooled 572 cubic-inch big-block Chevy crate engine connected to a 6-speed transmission and a twin 10.5-inch dual disc clutch. Forget the new 2012 Camaro ZL1, that’s more than a Bugatti Veyron.
Power is transferred to the ground via a “Strange” 9-inch rear diff with nodular case and 35 spline axles. It comes with a 304 stainless NRE exhaust with x-pipe, and an aluminium dual-row dual-pass radiator with twin high output electric fans. It also has HRE wheels wrapped in Drag Radial tyres as well as modern electrically-assisted four-wheel-disc brakes.
