Husqvarna reveals TR650 Strada and TR650 Terra bikes

Husqvarna has officially dropped details on the company’s first on-road offerings for the United States market, since BMW took over the reins in 2007.

Dubbed the TR650 Strada, the bike will come in on-road and off-road variants, although the latter hard-core version is called the TR650 Terra. Both bikes will rock 625cc water-cooled, single-cylinder dual-overhead cam engines which is in conjunction with a constant-mesh 5-speed gearbox. The entire system is good for around 58 hp and 60 Nm of torque. A perfect recipe for fun considering the bike weighs roughly 168 kg.

The duo will not be alien to this part of the world, because the TR650 gets its bones from the BMW G650GS, although with a few tweaks. Engineers have rolled in a reworked fuel-injection system, tweaked the cam and incorporated larger valves.

However, the TR650 Terra is a bit lighter than its on-road twin, and offers the ABS as an extra option, unlike the Strada which provides it as standard.

A spoked 21-inch wheel handles rolling duties up front, while an 18-inch version takes care of the rear. Aggressive rubber, a lower seat and marginally longer wheelbase also helps differentiate the Terra from the Strada. A lesser powerful 48 hp variant is also available for the Terra as an extra option.

What do you think?
