VW Polo WRC Street Special shows up at Worthersee meet

Volkswagen has revealed pics of the 217 hp VW Polo WRC Street before the annual GTI festival at Lake Wörthersee in Austria.

The street version features a 2.0-litre TSI four-cylinder engine, with 40 horses more over the 180 hp Polo GTI. Adding to its performance will be an aggressive aero package and decals. It is due to be launched in late 2013.

At this show, Volkswagen Motorsport will be presenting the Polo R-WRC, the Polo WRC Street special edition model plus two further Golf GTI concept cars.

Volkswagen Motorsport will also present the Polo R-WRC, a road-going prototype for the FIA World Rally Championship. It is powered by a 296 hp 1.6-litre TSI engine. This racer is claimed to hit 100 kph in 4.1 seconds.
