2009 Ford F-150 to hit Dubai showrooms
Launched alongside the new European-built Fiesta at a UAE press event in Fujairah, the all-new 2009 Ford F-150 will reach Dubai showrooms by the beginning of next year.
While the F-150 has been America’s workhorse for decades now, the big truck is more of a novelty vehicle in the GCC, sold with more upscale trim and limited engine choices. Shown at the launch event was the extended cab model with the rear half-doors. The most likely standard engine for the GCC will be the 310 hp 5.4-litre with 494 Nm of torque, automatic gearbox and four-wheel-drive. The SuperCrew 4-door model should also be available.
The F-150 has undergone minor changes, with the most obvious being the new face. The interior has been refreshed, retaining hard plastics that betray its work-truck roots, but making up its value with features such as a CD stereo, power accessories, sunroof and leather.
Expect pricing to be similar to the current fully-optioned version, possibly topping out at under Dhs 150,000.
