Porsche Panamera Turbo S joins 2012 range

Since that final badge was missing from the Panamera line, Porsche has gone ahead and turned up the boost on the Turbo to create the Panamera Turbo S flagship model.

The Turbo S model’s 4.8-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine delivers 550 hp, 50 hp more than the Panamera Turbo. Torque also increases by 50 Nm to 750 Nm. In the “Sport” and “Sport Plus” mode of the standard “Sport Chrono Package Turbo” and during kick-down in normal mode, the V8 temporarily delivers 800 Nm with the so-called overboost function.

With launch control, 0-100 kph happens in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 306 kph. Despite the increased performance, fuel consumption remains at the level of the Panamera Turbo, rated at 11.5 litres/100 km in Europe, dropping to 11.3 litres/100 km when fitted with the 19-inch Michelin all-season tyres with “optimised” rolling resistance instead of the 20-inch “Turbo II” wheels.

Other features include adjustable air suspension, computer-controlled all-wheel-drive, bi-colour leather interior and a four-way pop-up spoiler.

The Porsche Panamera Turbo S has a basic retail price of Dhs 813,600 in the UAE, Saudi, Qatar and other GCC markets, with options easily pushing it beyond Dhs 900,000. The model is available for orders now with first deliveries starting in June 2011.
