Toyota Corolla, Avalon & Lexus LX recall in UAE

Toyota’s Dubai-based dealer office has released a statement that the 2002-2007 Lexus LX 470, the 1999-2004 Toyota Avalon and the 2000-2001 Toyota Corolla are being recalled in the UAE. Only a few GCC-spec Corolla models are affected, while the Land Cruiser seems to have escaped the recall here.

There are 2,840 Lexus LX 470 (2002 to 2007 model years) vehicles sold by Al-Futtaim Motors in the UAE involved in a steering shaft mechanism recall campaign.

There are 816 Toyota Avalons (1999 to 2004 model years) sold by Al-Futtaim Motors in the UAE involved in a steering lock mechanism recall campaign.

There are only 55 Corolla (2000 and 2001 model years) sold by Al-Futtaim Motors in the UAE involved in an airbag recall campaign.

Al Futtaim Motors, the UAE dealer, will contact all affected owners to explain the situation and organise free-of-charge rectification.
