Lamborghini Murcielago 2007-2008 recalled for fuel leak

As if feeling Lamborghini were feeling left out, the U.S. NHTSA safety agency has ordered the VW-owned Italian firm to join the recall party, by making them fix their 2007-2008 Murcielago issue that could cause a fire hazard.

Lamborghini is recalling 428 of its 2007 and 2008 Murcielago coupes and roadsters in the United States for a potentially serious problem that could result in a fuel leak and possibly a fire. The problem lies with the welds holding the fuel-pump support inside the fuel tank. If the welds fail to hold, the tank could detach.

U.S. owners of Murciélagos can take their car to the nearest dealer for a free repair. It is unknown how the UAE and GCC dealers are handling this, but cars here are surely affected.

What do you think?

  3. there was a death of a sheikhs son while his lp640 burst into fire for no reason in dubai,i am sure it was for this problem mentioned above.

  4. Sounds like a serious quality issue… The fuel pump’s assembly is not well welded and its tends to come off? Didnt they see this coming? Thats like a really serious defect for a lamborghini..

The story of the sheikh’s son was very tragic, it happened on a rainy day in dubai and was shocking to hear for many of us… RIP..
