Dubai Police gets new BMW patrol cars
Yep, Dubai Police has taken delivery of 101 BMW 5-Series cars, half of which will be used as patrol cars. They are a good step up from the Mercedes-Benz C-classes, Toyota Fortuners and Nissan Pathfinders the cops keep trolling around in already.
An example of this car was first shown almost a year ago at some defence show in Abu Dhabi. Take heart in the fact that they are 530i models, so one could still get away with a reasonably fast car. Not that we condone such behaviour.

yes and they are using them in the civil defence thing (just in the emergency cases). they showed that on tv (news)
and really it reminds me with need for speed most wanted
when your heat becomes 5or higher corvette cars start on chasing you.

what is the meaninig of civil defence. these cars are not foe chasing patrol or any another cars. its for shutting down any small fire before it becomes an uncotrolable one.
and even for chasing, why it cant stop landcruiser or patrol????? 😐

I think the Dubai Police should use the Ford Crown Victoria, the Chevrolet Caprice, Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol as patrol cars because they are much better and reliable

I love the Dubai Police…Its so good to see these BMW’s patroling on streets in nights. It gives out a beautiful view.
And there’s one more thing. In Dubai, one rarely gets to see a Police C-series Mercedes. The most common is the Nissan Pathfinder, I almost see em’ everyday. But Mercedes ? Once in every two months or so. Why is that ? Ain’t there many Mercedes in service with Dubai Police ?

BMW drivetrains and tough and solid compared to japanese cars, much tougher and solid.. Police doesnt go for any random choice just for the fun of it..
An entry model bmw should be tough and reliable on a long run for them and they chose it with a purpose..
Not to forget mentioning the excellent driving dynamics these cars have..
Japanese cars? you wont find a single japanese car that provides the same solid package..

Oh, seems government, has lots of money. BMW’s are ok, but the still need some 4×4’s under the belt, their is lot more to policing, other than chasing.
